The Morning of Champions

A successful morning routine can transform your day. Mornings allow you to have a fresh start and a productive beginning to your daily routine. So, don’t be the person who sleeps until 11AM! Follow these 10 steps every morning and I am certain you will see a positive difference in your day-to-day routine.

 1- Get a goodnight sleep

In order to wake up early, it’s important to go to sleep early. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep every night.

2- Wake up 2-3 hours prior to leaving the house

The night before, set your alarm for 2-3 hours before you need to leave the house. This will allow you to have some time to yourself, as well as have a productive start to your day. By waking up 2-3 hours before you need to leave the house, you can check several items off of your to-do list before your day really even starts.  Chances are that if you leave things on your to-do list to complete after a long day, you will not do them.

3- Drink water

Drink at a minimum one cup of water. It will boost your metabolism and flush out your toxins.

4- Stretch

Ever wonder why you do a mini stretch when you wake up in the morning? Usually this happens because when you sleep, your muscles cramp up from not moving often, unless you are one of those who boxes during your sleep. Therefore, stretching in the morning will help to loosen your muscles and increase your energy level.

5- Meditate

Meditate for 10-20 minutes, don’t think and focus on your breathing. This is the one single time of the day where you can give yourself a chance to think about nothing! How great does that sound?

6- Get inspired

Listen to a podcast, watch a motivational video, or anything else that relates to the person you are and what you are trying to achieve. This is extremely important and can surely transform your day.

7- Plan out your goals for the day

WRITE your goals for the day. That’s right, don’t just think about them but rather jot them down. Better yet, schedule a time to execute on your goals. Studies show that you are 42% more likely to achieve your goals by writing them down!

8- Breakfast

Be sure to do your research on which foods will help achieve the results you are looking for. But most importantly, don’t ever skip eating breakfast, even if it’s something small.

9- Exercise

This is the biggest differentiator of all steps listed here. Exercising in the morning will boost your energy level, allow you to be more focused throughout the day, and enhance your metabolism. If you haven’t tried this yet, you’re missing out. Waking up early to go to the gym or on a run may sound like a nightmare, but it will make your day a whole lot better.

10- Give love

How great is it to wake up to a caring message from a friend or family member? Share the love. This will allow you to be thankful for what you have and the ones surrounding you.

Although everyone has different priorities when it comes to their morning routine, you should at least reserve one hour for yourself each morning to achieve the 10 steps discussed above. Don’t be consumed by morning news, stress, or exhaustion. Start your day off right, these steps are sure to bring an increase in your energy level and motivation.
